Charlie’s Angels 1.5 “Angels in Paradise” Review

It is no longer news that this show has been axed by the network but they are still continuing with it until they find a replacement. This is the 5th episode in its first season. The title of this episode is ‘Angels in Paradise’.

In this episode the Webber family was kidnapped in the Caribbean by pirates and a five million dollar ransom is being placed. Kate and Abby head toward the yacht in an attempt to have them rescued. Bosley goes underwater with Eve and while she sneaks into the yacht Bosley plants a bomb on the underside of the yacht.

While Kate and Abby engage the pirates with e exchange the explosion of the bomb signals the beginning of the rescue. The Webbers are saved but the leader of the pirates played by Fredrick Mercer escapes. Bosley find a video of a woman and a child and they suspect that that would be Mercer’s next target.

The woman is Jennifer Reiser and her son Wyatt who is a top class polo player. But Abby recognizes the face of the woman to be the wife of a disgraced New York banker who was into organized crime and killed himself. She is Lisa Hanson.

And when they approached them to tell them that Mercer might be after them to get his hands on whatever cash the husband had hidden before his death Lisa insisted that they were left broke and that his son is sponsoring his polo career by the means of a scholarship.

They set up a watch over the family but Wyatt is really keen on going to play a game of Polo that would give him a chance to play at the World Cup. They decide to go with him. While the girls hang around on the look out for Mercer, Bosley is dressed up like a polo player and the games begin. But Mercer who was already there had noticed them and informs someone with his phone. Again there’s the issue of a mysterious photographer who was snapping away at Wyatt. The angels were distracted and Wyatt was actually bundled away but the kidnap was foiled.

Bosley later found out tat Abby’s dad who was Wyatt’s father’s mentor might know one or two things about Hanson’s enemies. The dad was serving time in jail. Abby went to him and he told her to check for Hanson’s goons. Bosley used this tip and it eventually led to the house of the photographer who turned out to be Wyatt’s father who wanted to get his son back so that he could escape. He had faked his death. Mercer eventually got the boy and they had to rescue him and still arrest the father.

Abby went back to visit her dad and he warned her about Charlie.
